There needs to be a reward for either killing enemies, or a multiplier of exp based on the damage the player deals, because this is just painful to play with, especially if you ever want to switch your class in the middle of a world, as you no longer enjoy what you were playing before. This system also encourages the player to attack enemies that take 0 dmg, which like, why? That shouldnt reward the player at all, and yet that's how I was farming my Melee exp.

Overcoming the bosses requires a keen sense of strategy, so strengthen your character with purpose or suffer a swift end to your journey.

Start digging through the walls around you, aiming for any shiny stuff. This will get you some dirt and ore, so craft your furnace at the workbench. That allows you to melt the copper ore to upgrade your pickaxe and craft a sword to take care of some of the slimes you might see nearby.

And while bosses amp up the challenge, the crafting-focused sandbox design is suitable for people who are less interested in hardcore fighting and more interested in base-building. I’m only ten or so hours in, but I’ve watched Twitch streams where players have built extensive bases and crafted advanced items I have yet to even see Core Keeper Gameplay in my playthrough.

Boss fights range from fairly easy to pretty difficult. I haven't done all of them yet, but my impression is that all can be defeated solo. However, for some of them you may need to wait for specific items to drop, and their drop rate is very very low.
